Where is the Xenotes Tour ?
In the municipality of Puerto Morelos, in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. There is a road known as the “Ruta de los Cenotes”, in which there are many cenotes to visit. Our cenotes are distributed along this route, so we will move between them in a van.
Cenotes
You will visit four types of cenotes: open, semi-open, old and young. The cenotes that you will visit are Lu’um, Ha ‘, K’aák and Iik. You can only visit these cenotes with the Xenotes Tour, as there is no access for visitors who like to arrive on their own, so you will only share the space with other visitors on the tour.
Does the tour include food and drinks?
Yes. After visiting the first cenote, you will have a coffee break with oatmeal cookies, sweet bread (delicious), apples, coffee, champurrado and hibiscus water. Before visiting the last cenote, we will have an assisted buffet lunch of baguettes. You can prepare it as you want and you can repeat it as many times as you want. I recommend saving a little space for a brownie, they are delicious.
Drinks during mealtime can be plain water, soft drinks, beer, red or white wine.
Does the transport pick me up at my hotel?
The Xenotes tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off. At the time of booking, verify that the place where you stay is in our list of hotels that we pick up. In case you do not see it, you can call our Contact Center to confirm the information and, in case it is not on our list, our agent will help you locate the closest point so that we can pick you up.

All activities are included, therefore, they do not have any extra cost. You will only need money in case you want to buy the photo package (which I highly recommend), a shirt so you do not get burned by the sun, water shoes or a souvenir. Otherwise, you will not need more money during the tour.

How old do you recommend that children go?
Children from 6 years old can enjoy all the activities of the Xenotes Tour. If they are smaller they will not be able to perform for security reasons.
If I don't know how to swim, can I go?
Yes! The Xenotes Tour is prepared so that you can enjoy it even if you don’t know how to swim. We have life jackets (their use is mandatory), personal lifeguards in each cenote who are aware of all visitors and our guides, who are prepared for any situation that deserves your attention.
On the other hand, if you do not know how to swim and you are also afraid of the water, I recommend you to mentalize very well that you will be safe and that there are people trained and ready to support you if necessary. However, it is important that you know that you will be in constant contact with the water and the cenotes are deep, so you will not step on the ground. Despite being sure, you may not be able to calm down and enjoy the tour.
Are there animals in the cenotes?
In most of the cenotes, the flora and fauna is not abundant because, due to its geographical position, not many rays of sunlight enter, which prevents the photosynthesis of the plants that would become food for some fish.
However, there are some fish that manage to develop in the water of the cenotes, but don’t worry, they are small and shy fish that, in general, are friendly and stay away from humans.
On the other hand, around the cenotes you canounter a wide variety of flora and fauna. Insects, mammals and birds are everywhere. Remember that we are visiting your home. It must be treated with great care and respect.
What kind of clothes do I need to bring?
We recommend you bring two changes of clothes:
1.- Clothing for swimming: you cannot forget your swimsuit. If you want, you can bring water shoes and a shirt to prevent the sun from burning you.
2.- Dry clothes: after visiting all the cenotes, you will surely want to stay dry, therefore, bring fresh, comfortable and light clothes, in addition to your sandals or tennis shoes, as you feel more comfortable.
You will not need to bring a towel, on the tour you will be given one. In addition, I recommend you bring a light sweater, in case the air conditioning on the way is too cold for you and you can cover yourself again and take a rich nap.
If I want to bring my camera or cell phone to take photos and videos, can I?
If you can! Just keep VERY in mind that, when doing physical activities such as swimming, jumping, kayaking, zip lines and more, your device is likely to fall and as you surely know, the cenotes are very deep, which makes it very difficult for them to recover. .
We recommend having a band to secure your devices to your hand and prevent it from getting lost. Do not forget that they must be resistant to water or have a cover that protects them from moisture.
If you take your photos and videos, do not forget to upload them to your social networks using #TourXenotes or #Xenotes so that they can be published on the official tour networks.
I am staying at the Xcaret hotels, do I need to make a reservation?
Yes, as it is a tour with limited capacity, it is necessary that you make a reservation to be able to reserve your place. We recommend that as soon as you check-in at one of the Xcaret hotels, you ask for the availability of the tour and book it as soon as possible.
Are they applying security protocols due to the pandemic?
Yes. The group created the 360 ° Xeguridad protocol, which is concerned with maintaining the necessary security measures so that our collaborators and visitors can be calm.
What if I don't want to do adventure activities, but I do want to visit the cenotes?
If you do not want to do any activity, you can enjoy alone and swim in the four cenotes that you will visit on the Xenotes Tour. However, adventure activities are a fundamental part of this tour. I recommend you overcome your fear and venture to enjoy the zip lines, the slide, the jumps and more.
These activities are planned to be fun without neglecting your safety at any time. You can rest assured that you are going to be fine and that there are people taking care of you.
